Hi, My 2003 A4 is fitted with a climate control panel with a temperature range starting from 18 degrees. Later control panels started at 16 degrees e.g. my previous 2004 A3. The part number of the one fitted in my car is 8E0-820-043-AD. Later climate control panels have the same part number but ending BM. My car does have heated seats so this is no different, I wanted to upgrade because sometimes 18 degrees is to warm but the LO setting is to cold. I manage with one side on 18 and the other on

I recently purchased my dream car a 2002 Audi S3 BAM engine. It was parked up for 5 years so what I thought was the fault initially was the gauze in the sump being blocked, which it was. after cleaning out the gauze, engine and sump 3 times it has started to show the same issue again. Main questions is how to fix it lol and does the oil pump usually give this type of issue?

Old A3 Saved from the bailer ✊🏻 Saw this sitting in a scrapyard a couple of years ago and asked what was wrong with it. “Needs a new ECU.” So I bought it. Got the ECU cloned, then changed the timing belt and water pump. After that came a very long battle trying to track down and sort a handful of electrical gremlins. But finally… it’s back on the road, fully legal, and I absolutely love driving it. Not bad for a car that was basically written off and left sitting in a scrapyard. I’m pretty

Hello again Terry, Serviced annually - that’s great. S/s isolated - absolutely great. Your current service plan again seems reasonable for a main dealer. c£250 per service doesn’t sound excessive these days, and its possible that a trusted independent may not be that much cheaper, but it would be useful to have other member’s experience on what they pay and where. Now that we have a bit more background,I would not recommend changing the timing chain at this stage. Regards, Gareth.

Your current tyres have a noise rating of 69db which is slightly less than most premium tyres. A3s tend to suffer a little from road noise. Have them on my a3 with 19" wheels and they can get a bit noisy but similar to my son's gti on 18" wheels with michelin pilot sport 4 fitted. Tread patterns affect road noise as does tyre wall rigidity. There are tyres designed with the aim of noise reduction. These include michelin primacy 4+ (68db) and pirelli cinterato p7 c2 with pns (67db). Both of these have noise cancelling foam inserts. Not tried either but probably worth some research. 3db change reduces the noise by 50% as it is a log scale. Whether to change or not in the end depends on what you can live with and for how long. Good luck sorting it out.

Thanks Gareth, Yes, for my sins, I still have it serviced at main dealership. It’s serviced every year. I have a service plan for £19.00 pcm (£500 ish for 2yrs). Guess I should be looking more locally, like you say, it is 9yrs old now. I think that is the way they are looking at it. They will wait and see when they get it off. Regarding the chain, I have disabled the stop/start using my OBD11. I just knock it out of gear when stationary, second nature now I’ve been doing it for a while. My thinking was, rightly or wrongly, plastic in a heated environment 9yrs old?? Thanks for your feedback. Terry.
