Hi all, looking for anyone who's run into this exact issue on an Audi A3 (2010, Sportback, 1.6 TDI). What happened: - About 9 months ago the car started losing power while driving on the highway - Pulled over to the shoulder and shut it off - Restarted it, it would run for about 10 seconds, then die on its own - Tried restarting multiple times, exact same thing happened every time, runs ~10 sec then stalls - Had it towed to a mechanic What's been tried so far: - The mechanic tried several diff

I just wanted to try and understand the suggested / requried service intervals for different items. Some I do myself (engine oil change) others I will take to a local garage or my nearest audi independant, who are about an hour away. I'm particularly interested in things that are not obvious, but are nevertheless important. Engine Oil - 5000-6000 miles DSG Gearbox - I'm opting for 30k intervals Diesel fuel filter - ?? Air Filter - Annual? Brake fluid - 3 years? Power Steering - ?? as required?

Hi - just had an MOT - failed on torn lower arm boots - same on each side front lower arm. Whole banana arms are only 2 years old. MOT gge wanted 350 to replace. Contacted original supplier gge who said out of warranty but unusual - wanted to examine. Identified: exposed grease was clean, v minimal road exposure, no dust or dirt present, tears/cuts aligned perfectly with inside edges of a pickle fork. Suggesting the tester had used fork to check for wear and/or movement. No other signs of wea

Hi Looking for some advice from A3 owners please. I am potentially getting a new A3 but my only hesitation is I am worried if might not be big enough for my dog. I would like to put her in the boot and wondered if any A3 owners do the same. She is a medium sized golden retriever. Thanks in advance.

Welcome Till and thanks for joining. I think there should have been a handbook with your 2016 - unlike most current models for which an on line search has to be made. If you have the correct handbook, then that is your gospel, and will give you a viscosity rating and a specification that the oil must satisfy. As a matter of interest, at what intervals has it been serviced to date? Regards, Gareth.

We did replace the header tank, and also got a genuine audi cap so it should seal. Personally I still think it has a air lock but its been a few months now so I thought it would have sorted its self out. Maybe not. I have read that you are suppose to use a pump or wet vack to force or suck the system as your filling it. Not sure on that one 🤔

Water cannot be compressed so if the coolant fills the reservoir when the cap is removed this suggests air in the system. So either there is air getting into the system somehow over time which means a leak or/and the system has not been bled fully when repaired. Is the reservoir cap fully airtight?

Hi, new to the site my Audi A3 8v 2015 defroster actuator has stoped working, finding it hard to find the part number to order a new one, can anyone help? where is it located is it on the glove box side or is drivers side?
