  1. Welcome Craig and thanks for joining. Regards, Gareth.
  2. I've actually posted something and commented on a couple of posts already, but I suppose I'd better introduce myself. Despite my somewhat unconventional username (it's a longstanding handle that I've been using for years), you guys can call me Craig if you want. I'm an almost-five-decades-old bloke who lives in West Lothian, Scotland, who is very much not your typical Audi driver because I have long hair and have a propensity to listen to metal at loud volumes. That asides, when it comes to cars, I have to say that I'm not one of those people who buys a new car every five years - I tend to hang onto them for a while. The car that I held onto the longest was my last car, a 2006 A4 S-Line 2.0 TDi (140) which was affectionally called 'Wolfgang', which I sadly waved goodbye to earlier this month after fifteen years of ownership because his turbo was starting to fail and his subframe was badly corroded and I couldn't justify shelling out a ton of cash to fix such an old car. I may have shed a tear or two. He made way for my new 2024 A4 S-Line Avant 40 TFSI, which has been dubbed 'Magnus'. I've not even had him two weeks, so I'm very much in the 'getting to know you' stage. The difference in technology between a twenty year old and a two year old one is taking a little getting used to, as you can imagine!
  3. Many thanks Martin, Sounds like you may not have been given the most meaningful advice. Apologies for stating what is probably obvious, but you can run the car with any quantity of fuel in the tank you wish. If you run it at a low level, the reserve warning will come on when you have about 30 miles left. Yes, the best judge of average fuel consumption is the fill to fill and noting the mileage covered and amount of fuel added to refill. Hope it turns out well Martin. Please let us know how you get on. Regards, Gareth.
  4. Thank you for your input Ron. My reason for asking new or secondhand has been clearly explained in my post of 11 hours ago. Is there anything not clear to you in that post that doesn’t explain the reason for asking in the first place? Please return and state what it is, and I’ll see if I can do better for the third time. No criticism in hindsight of Libby’s lack of ‘homework’ prior to sale, but if this had been logically followed then it would not have been too difficult to establish its previous pedigree and possible prior rejection for the same reason. Now your comments regarding my behaviour ( and Clifford’s) is a personal affront, and this is thoroughly discouraged on this forum. Your personal opinion of me is simply that, and although I’m open to receive any such criticism during a face to face discussion, I’ve long since refused to acknowledge keyboard criticism from persons I’ve not been personally introduced to. So thanks, but….. I cannot and will not comment on Clifford’s views, but I guess he will. Re. removing you from the forum at the earliest opportunity - any of the moderators could either warn or ban you for some misdemeanour, but I personally don’t want to do that. The constructive way forward for you is to either simply discontinue to visit and use the forum, or to approach the forum administrators and request they remove all the information you entered into your profile. Good luck and satisfaction to you Ron. Regards, Gareth.
  5. Up to £17k for perfect example with desired spec. 😎
